  17. Version 1.0:
  18. ------------
  19. Colonial Conquest II v1.1 is a complex space strategy game which
  20. contains elements of the Microprose game CIVILIZATION and common
  21. space strategy games.
  22. Every player has a populated planet with some installations on it
  23. from which he has to spread over the known universe by building
  24. different space ships (colony ships, war ships, troop transportes,
  25. exploration ships...) and making advance in technology. The higher
  26. the technology level, the more new and sophisticated objects the
  27. civilization can build.
  28.  
  29. This is a sequel to Colonial Conquest I. Many bugs have
  30. been removed and hundreds of details changed. The major new
  31. points however are:
  32.  
  33. - Intelligent computer opponent that makes the game challenging
  34. even when playing alone.
  35. - Alien life forms to be discovered on new planets (50 lifeforms!)
  36. - Ground combats & military.
  37. - Espionage with spy satellites.
  38. - Lots of new objects and space ships.
  39. - Title music, more graphics.
  40. - Background story, Empire points. Now, two player do not necessarly
  41. have to destroy eachother. They can also play until one of them has
  42. gathered enough Empire points to win the game.

  44. The game has nice graphics and a mouse driven interface. A
  45. very long manual will explain everything that may be unclear.
  46. This manual is now also included in a German version.

  48. Colonial Conquest II remains giftware which means that you are
  49. not (morally) forced to pay the author.
